We Will Rock You
The Dominion Theatre is currently home to the Queen tribute musical We Will Rock You. The musical first opened at in May 2002, at the Dominion Theatre. It did not receive positive reviews from the critics but despite this the audiences were still drawn in night after night.
The jukebox musical is a tribute to the English rock band Queen. The band was massively successful during the seventies and up until the death of the lead singer, Freddy Mercury, in 1991. The band enjoyed several hit albums and over eighteen number ones worldwide.
The musical, We Will Rock You, has also enjoyed international success as Queen fans worldwide enjoy the music of the band. The musical has been performed in locations including Russia, United States, Japan, Australia, and South Africa. The musical includes some of Queens hit songs which has boasted the international success of the musical. The musical includes ‘I Want to Break Free’, ‘Under Pressure’, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’, ‘These are the Days of Our Lives’, ‘Fat Bottomed Girls’, ‘Who Wants to Live Forever’ and ‘Another One Bites the Dust’. The continuation of the musical on the West End is set to be followed by a sequel which has recently been completed.
