The musical story of the Four Seasons band first opened in New York in the Broadway Theatre the August Wilson Theatre in November of 2005. The musical instantly received interest on a similar level to other musicals that complement the work and life of a band such as Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You.

The musical gained fantastic reviews alongside four Tony Awards and a Grammy Award for Best Show Album. The success of the show has spread across to the UK and the musical opened in the West Ends Prince Edward Theatre in February 2009.

The performance was planned to run through until April 2009 but the demand has been so great that it is extended for dates to be extended so as to meet this demand. The musical documents the four members of the band, Frankie Valli, Nick Massi, Tommy De Vito and Bob Gaudio. The writer, Rick Elice, interviewed all members of the band expect Nick Massi as he had sadly passed away. He used this information, plus documentaries and interviews from before Massi passed, to compile a history of the band and re-enact it in the musical. It has proved to be a winning formula!
